Vingroup’s predecessor is Technocom Group, established in 1993 in Ukraine. In the early 2000s, Technocom returned to Vietnam, focusing on investment in tourism and real estate with two initial strategic brands, Vinpearl and Vincom. In January 2012, Vincom Joint Stock Company and Vinpearl Joint Stock Company merged, officially operating under the Group model with the name Vingroup – Joint Stock Company.

As a leader in real estate and hospitality aiming for sustainable development, Vingroup understands clearly the importance of ensuring environmental protection during the design, construction, development and operation of its resorts, shopping malls, offices and residential properties. From the first projects, Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang and Vincom Center Ba Trieu, to recent urban projects such as Royal City, Times City and Vinhomes Riverside, “green” was designed in, featuring open natural areas and energy-saving technologies in all projects. The “green” principle has been prominently applied during each stage of Vingroup’s development.

Vingroup considers environmental protection a key criterion throughout the Groups business operations and project development activities. Vingroup not only makes all efforts to preserve and protect the environment, but also emphasises raising customer and community awareness to collaborate in building and preserving a healthy environment, worthy of Vingroup’s 5-star brand.

Vingroup and the Community

Vingroups corporate culture is built on a pioneering spirit and pride in the intelligence, resolve and humanity of the Vietnamese people. This culture not only manifests in benefit programs for employees, but also in activities aimed at the overall development of society at large.

The Kind Heart Foundation is a non-profit organization established by Vingroup to undertake humanitarian and charity missions and “most promptly and efficiently transfer Vingroup employees’ kindness to the community.”

Established in 2006, with the entire operating budget funded by Vingroup and its management, the Kind Heart Fund has implemented practical projects and actionable programs for the development of many communities, with priority given to benefiting disadvantaged families and families with meritorious service to the revolution. These include: taking care of women awarded the “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” honour, supporting beneficiaries of social welfare and preferential government programs, helping poor but studious students, supporting economic development for poor provinces, assisting victims of natural disasters, and underwriting charitable and humanitarian projects that construct educational, cultural and public health centres.

In December 2008, Vingroup established a fund to promote Vietnamese football talent (PVF), quickly making it an effective model for training young professional football players and helping toa talented and virtuous generation of young players for the nation.

In July 2010, the Kind Heart Foundation, in cooperation with the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam, inaugurated the Phat Tich Custodian Care and Talent Development Facility. Located in the Phat Tich Buddhist Cultural Complex in Bac Ninh, this centre provides care and housing for the elderly, the indigent, orphans and social welfare beneficiaries from across the country. The centre is one of the Group’s long-term charitable endeavours and contributes to the state’s social services, education, training and foster care efforts helping disadvantaged children to become capable, productive citizens. With a number of significant humanitarian activities nationwide, the Kind Heart Foundation, continues to make great efforts in fulfilling its mission, becoming a model example for the spirit of Vietnamese solidarity.
